posted Feb 2, 2017, 11:30 AM by Lorna Goodrow

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Rolling Meadows has arranged an Intermediate Ski Trip to Mount St. Louis Moonstone on Thursday, March 2, 2017.  In the event of bad weather, our alternate date will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

This trip will provide many students with their first exposure to skiing and/or snowboarding and is an extension to the Physical Education program.  STUDENTS NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE SKI TRIP WILL BE EXPECTED TO ATTEND SCHOOL AS USUAL.

We will be taking attendance between 6:00 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. in the auditorium in order to leave at 6:30 a.m. and returning between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. depending on traffic.  To ensure the safety of our students, all students must make alternate arrangements to get to school in the morning and to get home upon our return to school.

  • To be well behaved
  • To be properly prepared with appropriate clothing for the weather
  • To be responsible for own lunch – packed or bought at cafeteria
  • To attend scheduled lessons-this is mandatory!
  • To use good sense in choosing hills/trails according to ability
  • To be punctual for lessons, returns and bus
  • To ski with at least two others
  • To cooperate with supervisors and instructors

You will understand that such a trip involves extra hazards beyond those of normal school activities.  It is essential that the students be counselled on the necessity for extra care and cooperation.

Please read, complete and sign the attached Field Trip Permission form, Winter Excursion form and Student Medical Information form (double-sided).

 Thank you.   B. Slemko, Principal
